FIRST COHORT OF GADANGME VOLUNTEER TEACHERS DEPLOYED TO ADA WEST DISTRICT
The GaDangme National Students’ Union (GADANSU) is pleased to announce the successful deployment of its first cohort of GaDangme Volunteer Teachers to selected basic schools in the Ada West District.
This milestone represents a significant and historic step towards strengthening Dangme language education, promoting cultural identity, and improving learning outcomes within GaDangme communities.
The deployment forms part of GADANSU’s flagship GaDangme Volunteer Teachers Program, an initiative designed to address the shortage of Dangme language teachers in schools while revitalizing interest in indigenous language learning among students.
In addition to enhancing language education, this intervention will also create opportunities for unposted graduates to serve in schools, enabling them to gain practical experience while contributing meaningfully to national development and cultural preservation.
Through this initiative, GADANSU seeks to:
- Strengthen the teaching and learning of the Dangme language
- Promote indigenous knowledge and cultural heritage
- Support educational authorities in improving quality education
- Empower young graduates through volunteer service
GADANSU remains committed to advancing education and upholding identity, and calls on all stakeholders, including educational institutions, traditional authorities, and community leaders—to support this noble initiative.
The Union extends its sincere appreciation to all partners and stakeholders whose support has made this historic deployment possible.
